About the event

Join the Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. as we host a free reception to celebrate the opening of the ARTfactory’s Black History Month art exhibit.

Dr. Yemonja Smalls’ work, , will be displayed. At the reception, meet Yemonja, see her exceptional art, hear her discuss her process and technique, and enjoy live music and refreshments. In Our Image: A Reflection of the Creator

: Dr. Yemonja Smalls is an emerging Maryland artist with very little formal artistic training. Through her use of paint, collage, papercuts and other media, she seeks to build through focused deconstruction, and examine the process of holding even brokenness of spirit tenderly though reassembly. With a varied use of color to display the underside of the soul, she hopes that the viewer will see themselves and be able to identify their own reflection in what is witnessed.About the artist
