Celebrate “Free to Be Me” with PWCAC DST at the ARTfactory on Aug. 9!

Join the Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. on Saturday, Aug. 9, from 6 – 8 p.m., as we host a free reception, in partnership with Neabsco District Sup. Victor S. Angry, to celebrate the opening of "Free to Be Me" at the ARTfactory in Manassas. This is an exhibition curated by the Black Art Today Foundation that celebrates the multifaceted journey of self-discovery and authentic expression.

At the reception, view the artwork, meet the artists, and enjoy live music and refreshments.

Exhibit synopsis: The artists featured explore various facets of personal freedom, from the quiet introspection of self-acceptance to the vibrant declaration of one's true colors. Encounter works that speak to the liberation found in breaking free from imposed roles, the joy of embracing unique perspectives, and the resilience inherent in overcoming personal struggles to emerge as one's most authentic self. 

Each piece serves as a testament to the ongoing evolution of identity, acknowledging that "being me" is not a fixed destination but a continuous, dynamic process. This exhibit will inspire visitors to explore their own journey of self-expression, fostering a deeper appreciation for the beauty of authenticity in all its forms.
